Roleplay vs. Roleplaying
Jan. 25th, 2013 08:31 pmRP fic and art have made their way to the AO3 in increasingly large numbers. There are now two canonical freeform tags for them! Inspired by Roleplay/Roleplay Adaptation is the metatag, with synonyms like "based off roleplay" and "converted roleplay". Its subtag is Roleplay Logs, with synonyms like "roleplay format" and "roleplay-style text".
There is also a generic Roleplay tag, but this tag is shared with in-story roleplay, where the characters are taking on roles, usually in the bedroom. If you want to make sure your RP fic or art are found by anyone interested in RP-based works, one of the more specific tags above will be more likely to draw them in.
